Most of the city's population consists of foreign immigrants and foreign students, who typically come to the city to learn the Russian language before moving on to their careers. The city has also been home to a number of famous Russians. Famous Russian poets Platonov, Bunin, Kolstov, Nikitin, Marshak, and Troepolskii were all born in this wonderful city.

Modern-day Voronezh is a place to behold. There are over 7 theaters, 12 cinemas, and numerous cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Tourists can also see the amazing statue of Peter the Great, which was built in 1860 and is surrounded by a beautiful garden of flowers.
