"Hello Tatyana Nikolaevna and the rest of the staff at the agency! I finally got a minute to write this letter to you. I am sorry that I did not have time to stop by the agency to say good-bye to everyone before I left. I spent the last few days in Ukraine doing paperwork for my daughter’s school, shipping my belongings and saying my final good-byes to my relatives. "Over all, my trip to Vladivostok was a great experience, and I want to thank you for all your work to make it a great experience.

I had a little trouble at the Newark airport with the check-in. I had trouble there because I had to go to the domestic Continental terminal instead of the international terminal. I thought, how am I ever going to get to Vladivostok? Then I had trouble finding the international terminal at the Los Angeles airport, but I was determined to arrive in Vladivostok on time.

I had no other travel problems, except that it was a long time, 29 hours. When I arrived in Vladivostok, I took 90 minutes to get through security and customs. Then I went to the lobby and it was there that Vera walked up to me! I gave her a kiss on the cheek and off we went.

We then drove to the hotel. Vera, Anya and the driver Marsha were all very friendly. Vera was very nice. It was a little awkward at first, but it turned out very good. Anya and Vera took me right into my hotel room about 5:00 PM on Tuesday. They had it all arranged very well. The people at the desk were nice and they had good security. The room was clean.

The plan was for Vera and I to have dinner at a romantic restaurant. I went to sleep for 2 hours, and Vera, Anya and a new driver Stanislov picked me up at 9:00 pm. The restaurant was the best restaurant I have ever eaten at! Anya got Vera and me situated at the restaurant and then Anya left, and it was just Vera and me, and Vera's dictionary. We had a great time (music, food, wine, atmosphere, and Vera).

The next 3 days Vera and I visited the city and took many pictures. Anya acted as our translator and historian. She was very helpful making Vera and I enjoy everything. She coordinated things with the driver so Vera and I could have fun.

On Thursday night, Vera invited me to her flat for dinner, I met her 20-year-old son, and he was very nice and friendly. He spoke English well and made an effort to talk to me, which I thought was nice. I thought he was a bright young man.

Vera had some tasty food, and the dinner was very nice and I was very happy to be her guest. Vera was doing well with English and it was so nice to hear her speak a sentence. She worked very hard to bring our visit together. We connected!

I thought Vera was a wonderful young woman, and I made that very clear to her on the second day. On Thursday at noon, we had a meeting with Olga at the agency. They had a party for me with a bottle of red wine and cake. We had a great time, and I was very impressed with Olga's dedication to making her clients happy, and ensuring the wellness for her clients. She talked about destiny, and how her reward was seeing the destiny of her clients come true. Olga is a very nice lady with a great personal nature.

Throughout my entire stay, everyone was very professional despite my nervousness. Vera, Anya and Marsha got me to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Vera and I got more pictures for the fiancée Visa, then we said goodbye. Since my departure, Vera and I write each day and we grow close!

"I first met Lena in August through the company. As time progressed, it looked like we both were searching for the same thing. In September, Lena bought a computer and we exchanged phone and mobile phone numbers as well as email addresses. It was during Hurricane Wilma that we found we REALLY cared for each other. It was during this time that in Boynton Beach I did not have electricity for 5 days or so. Lena and I called each other twice a day as and used sms.

For some reason it seemed to both of us that we have known each other for a very long time. In the first week of December Lena told me her son was going to Thailand during Christmas and New Years to stay with her relatives there (they have a house in Pattaya). Then Lena said, "I don't want to spend New Years alone."

So we started thinking, ok where to meet. China, no it takes 30 days for me to get a visa. Then we said ok, maybe Korea. Lena has friends with customs so we got all the information required that she would need for a visa to Korea. Then we had to decide when to go to Korea as her son would leave for Thailand on December 25. So we booked the JW Marriott Seoul Korea. The Korean embassy wanted letters from the hotel that she was staying with me. So we had the hotel make a letter and send it to Lena. She went to the embassy and was able to get the visa no problem.

Lena arrived on December 23. At the airport when we met, it was not like meeting a stranger. It was more like seeing each other after a long absence or separation. We had such a great time! For us, it was much better that our meeting was in a "neutral" area. This way, no family was around and it was a very good test to see how well we interact with one another when it's just the two of us.

I brought my laptop computer with me so we both could stay in contact with our families and keep them up-to-date on our travels. Lena speaks English very well. So we had no problem communicating whatsoever.

Now we are planning to spend one month in Thailand in June or July depending on my work schedule (we will stay at her relatives house). Also, we plan on getting married in Thailand. I checked with the US Embassy regarding this process as did Lena with the Russian Embassy. So, we have many nice things to discuss in Vladivostok!

With me retired from the US Army I meet the financial requirements in Thailand for a retirement Visa. Lena would like to live there. So we are planning to do this after our visit to Thailand in the summer. There are very good international schools there for her son to attend. Once he is finished with school there, this is when we will most likely move to the US.

So far is our story! More nice things to follow after Vladivostok!

"Wish I was there!

I am trying to get used to not having Galina next door and talking to her face to face. Everyone in Russia was so nice and I had such a great time. I really am ready to go back or bring her here. I have emailed the lawyer and hope to get the paper work started on her visa. As for ways to make the trip better for other travelers, I have thought about this a lot and there really is not much that could have been better for me.

I should have gotten an English to Russian dictionary but found one there easy enough. The prices there were very good. Having the Russian letters and sounds would have been nice. This is something that helps in trying to say Russian words.

The only thing that I wasn't aware of regarded currency exchange. The people in Russia would not change a bill that was worn or torn at all. I tried two places to change money that was not in perfect condition and was turned down both times. So, when bringing money to Russia, one should make sure that all bills are in pristine condition, or exchange your money before leaving.

You have helped to make me a very happy man again. I hope that if anyone is questioning about going to Russia and wishes to ask me any questions, please feel free to give them my e-mail address. I would be happy to write to any one that is thinking about going there.

"The trip was great. I found the country and it's people very interesting. I was in Kiev and in Yalta. Weather of course was better in Yalta than in Kiev but a good time was had in both places. Yes i did meet a woman in Kiev. She came from the city of Lugansk and met me in Kiev. She met me at the airport and because she spoke Russian was very helpful in getting us through the hungry taxi cabs drivers at the airport. I had rented a flat in Kiev that was very nice and was located right next to St. Sophia's Church. Of course having rented a flat we needed to get food so i was introduced to the Ukrainian grocery store...Quite an experience. We had a couple of days of sunshine so were able to get out for a boat ride on the Dnieper River and some sight seeing. I really liked Kiev it is a very alive city.. It was a couple of weeks before the election there so there was a lot of activity in Revolutionary Square. Irina and I had a wonderful time for a week in Kiev. She was a very nice woman and could speak a little English. After a week in Kiev She went back to Lugansk and I went to Yalta. Yalta a beautiful Resort Town and the sun and the sea were really great. I rented a flat a few blocks for the black Sea. I was in Yalta for 4 days and then returned to Kiev for another five days and then returned to USA. Thank you for all your help. "

I stayed at Hotel Slovakia, on the 6th floor, breakfasts were wonderful. I also utilized the piano in the lobby. The cash machine in the lobby gave instant access to my accounts in the States and cash was easy to obtain. The Hotel staff was very helpful in every way including ordering the roses for Elena. On Valentine's Day, Feb 14th, Elena and I had dinner at the restaurant Doce Vita, and were hosted by a friend of hers. We finally sat down together to get to know each other a little bit and talk. Elena knows some English and we set out to know each other better. On the 15th we went to the Museum at Saratov..on the 16th to the Opera. The 17th I explored Saratov on foot..it was cold but wonderful and shop keepers were very friendly, I got pictures developed from the museum. On the 18th before my departure, we returned to Dolce Vita. (It is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been in.) Then we met up with Tatiana and the taxi and went to the airport. Elena's father met me there, and gave me a gift. My thoughts were that I would never want to disappoint that man. I love everything about Elena. She is very intelligent, very beautiful, and very confident. I want to thank you for helping to make this meeting possible. My only sadness is that I had to leave. Sincerely "

The lady is a very nice and basically innocent lady, which I knew in advance, but Anna helped her feel the sufficient confidence to be with me, since everything was performed through the agency. This is definitely a value added.

"I had a great time in Kiev. Initially I was worried since I was going alone and truly was not sure what to expect. But, I had corresponded and spoken with both women that I went to see, so I at least had a sense of what they were probably going to be like and I was pretty accurate.

After landing in Kiev, I was picked up at the airport by the driver from the agency I rented my apartment from (which over-looked Independence Square). I found the apartment on my own online and it turned out to be very nice. I slept for a couple of hours, then met with the first woman I had contacted. She was really nice and sweet, and we spent quite a few days together, but I was aware of the fact that while she was very pretty and we had fun together, we were not right for each other.

I then boarded a bus to Nikolaev. (I will never do that again, but it was a learning experience.) I was met at the bus station in Nikolaev by the second woman I had written to, Anna. After literally tripping as I exited the bus, I was off to an auspicious start. Anna laughed as I approached her, so at least she had a sense of humor. From the time I fell off the bus, to the time I left (6 days) we were pretty much inseparable. We have spoken everyday since and I am returning in November to Nikolaev. I haven't laughed that much and enjoyed my time with one person like that in a long time. The internet is a wonderful thing. Otherwise, this amazing and beautiful woman and I would have never met!

Now for my observations on my trip. These people have the right idea when it come to relaxing in the cafes and having a glass of wine and enjoying the company of their friends and family. I have to think it's the same in other European nations (Italy, France, etc.). This is something we could actually learn from here in the US. But, I will also tell you, we are the luckiest people in the world and should really appreciate the country we live in and what we have, based on some of the sights I saw on my bus trip from Kiev to Nikolaev.

All in all, the people were genuinely nice. Both of the women that I met spoke perfect English, so I never had to deal with any language barriers, which I could see as a potential problem for any couple trying to learn about each other. I can't imagine not being able to communicate completely with someone you might be interested in having a relationship with, since the two of you are already at somewhat of a disadvantage having to learn about each others cultures, which believe me presented some interesting moments and misunderstandings. But, once you are able to fully understand each others differences, then hopefully you can enjoy the company you are keeping.

"I am writing to praise the services offered by one of your participating agencies located in Barnaul, Russia. This particular agency is run by a wonderful lady named Svetlana. I enlisted her help this summer and I could not be happier with the results!

Upon my arrival in Barnaul, a driver picked me up at the airport and took me to the hotel where I showered and had something to eat. Later that day, the driver took me to a flower shop where we purchased a bouquet to present to Sagida, the lady with whom I would be meeting. When we returned to the hotel, I met Sagida for the very first time, and it couldn't have been more perfect!

Svetlana escorted us around town a bit, and the three of us had lunch at a nice restaurant, enjoyed some city sights and some shopping, then went back to the hotel where we were left to ourselves. Svetlana was an extremely helpful interpreter, ensuring that there was never a breakdown in communication between Sagida and myself.

Svetlana arranged a reservation for us at a retreat just a few minutes from downtown Barnaul. The retreat consisted of 3 days/nights in a very nice room complete with fireplace. The housekeeping ladies even set up the fireplace ready to light a match to. There was a sauna, massage, and 3 meals were included each day. It was just the sort of perfect environment in which a new couple could become better acquainted.

When it was time for me to fly back to Wisconsin, Svetlana took both Sagida and me to the airport on time. Prior to my arrival to Barnaul, the agency provided me with information on the weather, clothing to bring, dress customs, information on the airports in Moscow and Barnaul, and how to navigate through them, as well as things to do and see in and around Barnaul.

In short, the agency assisted me in a very professional manner to ensure that Sagida's and my meeting would be as enjoyable as it possibly could. At no time did I feel threatened or in any sort of danger during my time in Russia, and I was a first time traveler out of the USA when I made this trip.

I've saved the best for last! I am flying again in November to Barnaul for a second meeting with Sagida. Once again, Svetlana and her wonderful agency will assist, and they will also help us make preparations for obtaining our K1 marriage Visa. This will take place in the early part of 2007. I enjoyed a wonderful visit to Barnaul, thanks largely to Svetlana and her agency, and I have met the woman of my dreams.

"When I corresponded with my lady friend in Barnaul, I had wondered where it was, since the name of the city was not familiar to me. I looked it up on an atlas, and found it to be located 12 time zones away, in western Siberia. As most, if not all, Americans think of Siberia as a cold, dark place with bitter windswept steppes and people whom time has passed by, I had my doubts. But I had faith and curiosity to find out more, and I am glad I did.

Upon arriving in mid-April 2006, I was warmly greeted by the agency director, who assisted with my getting established in the modern, European style hotel in this provincial capital city of 800,000. I met with my lady friend, and we spent time with the guide-interpreter who showed me the city views from the bridge over the Ob River, the downtown shops and the four universities and the elegant restaurant where we had our lunch.

We were able to visit several of the art galleries in the city and made plans to visit the museums. The highlight of the journey was a visit to the Altai Mountains several hours' drive from the city. They reminded me of my years in Colorado, with similar terrain, but with more rivers and streams. The climate was mild, in the 50s and 60s most of the time, although the snow and ice on the river banks had not yet completely melted.

Visiting the quaint chapels, the villages, chapel, restaurants, the museum of the Altai native peoples, experiencing a Russian banya and staying in a warm, comfortable modern cabin at the mountain resort were an unforgettable experience. Meals were prepared from native plants and vegetables, as well as local livestock. The agency director was accommodating and thorough in preparation for the visit, and always stood ready to make my visit a success.

The long trip home from Russia gave me much time to reflect on everything that had taken place over the previous 5 days and I know I am very emotional man, but the feelings that I have along with the memories of my time with her made the trip home seem very short. Now that we are not together anymore, each day is very long even though we talk on the telephone and still send each other many emails, letters, and packages. I cannot wait for the next time we are together! All of this was made possible and so easy by the services of this website and the people behind it. In the case of the "Introduction Package" it is Alena. She is always very pleasant and happy to do whatever she can to make sure that you are well informed and comfortable with all the arrangements that she works out for you.

It was very nice to have someone meet me in Moscow and take me from the airport I initially arrived at to another airport in order to get to my final destination in Russia. The same service was provided on my return trip. Another very positive thing for me was that we had a car and driver available to us each day so we could get around her city and see the things that were important for her to show me. But, what made this so special was for us it was always the same car and the same driver and he was truly a wonderful man who enjoys what he does very much.

Everyone I met, even strangers in shops and in restaurants were interesting and pleasant to interact with even though my ability to communicate in Russian is very poor (I am working on it). However, we did not need an interpreter as the one I went to see speaks English and of course Russian very well. This in itself was a big reason why we were able to become so close through emails and letters, and I am very happy and very fortunate that she has these skills.

Elena is a truly remarkable girl, I really have nothing bad to say about her at all, for me she defines all the qualities that make a Russian girl so special and worth the investment in emotions, time and money to be with. After meeting with her friends and family within only 5 days I felt welcomed into her life in a very special way.

The service in Rostov was fist class, at the hotel the staff spoke good English, were polite friendly and always helpful. The suite I stayed in was as good as any I have stayed in at many luxury hotels.

The saddest day of my trip was the day I left, as I walked in the park on the warm Sunday morning with Elena at my side I really felt I needed to ask nothing more from life, kissing her goodbye at the airport was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I hope we are going to be together soon, she wrote that she missed me before I had even left Russian Airspace.

I have strong hope for the future now, we are both sensitive people and so want to build our relationship one step at a time, but it is something I will wait for as in Elena I have found someone I could never equal.

Your advice and help on the visa situation has proved invaluable, we hope that Elena can visit in the coming Weeks meet with my family friends and we can make a decision about our future life together, but in my heart I think it is a decision we both already made and we will choose to spend our life together.

On reason is that I am a pilot so I am willing to just get on an airplane and go somewhere. However I will give you my observations. The initial contact with the agency took a little effort. However after they knew of my intention they worked fast. That I appreciated since I was making somewhat last minute plans. The agency did offer to send a car to the airport to pick me up and take me to Vinnitsa. That would have been the easiest. However I took the train. I wanted to learn to travel around Ukraine on my own. It turned out not to be so easy. But I did manage. The accommodations in Vinnitsa were very good. And the local agency was very gracious in providing them. They were very comfortable. The interpreter was probably one of the best features of the trip. Her name was Julia and she was very good. Plus she was concerned with my safety and well being. I think that if there could have been an aspect that I would liked to have improved on that would be activities. Maybe an option for other activities. Yet I have to say that Julia arranged for our meetings and she did a competent job. I am sure that it is not easy trying to create an atmosphere in which two people can feel comfortable who do not speak the same language. I am sure that in the future I will be making another trip to Ulraine. "

"Yes, I did take a trip to Nikolaev in around the 1st of August. I went to meet a specific lady whom I had grown fond of but I did not use any help from any agencies. The time in Nikolaev went fine. I did have some troubles with air travel which were 100% airline related. My relationship with the woman I visited continued for a few months but really did not take off during or after my visit. This is just real life between me and women sometimes. so we both continue our search. My only lessons learned from my first visit to Ukraine is that traveling in and out of the country is difficult and one cannot expect American standard of service or concern for customer/traveler. Both coming and going had major problems resulting in 18 hour trip turning into 2.5 to 3 day trip. If or when I return I will travel to a hub city in western Europe like Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, and stay overnight. I would then fly to Ukraine. For me, any flight to the Ukraine involves two connections and airline travel is too unpredictable which inequitably results in missed connections. "

"I went to Odessa in May. I was very pleased with the interpreter/representative who was assigned to handle my arrival and stay. He met me at the gate at the airport upon my arrival. He then went with me to do currency exchange and to the grocery store, and of course, he took me to meet the lady that evening. I did not need him much after that, but he made it clear to me that if there was anything I needed to just let him know, and at the end of my stay he took me to the airport.

As far as the accommodations, my apartment was not ready for me on the first night and I stayed in a smaller studio. But it was fine as they moved me into my apartment the very next day. I really liked the apartment. It was clean, comfortable, spacious, and looked like it had been newly renovated. There was a lot of construction going on within the complex which created a lot of dust. But it was of no bother or inconvenience to me.

I very much enjoyed my trip to Odessa. Unfortunately, my relations with the lady I met did not work out. But I have not given up on my search and I hope to find someone through your site. The resort was outstanding - beach, pool, tennis courts, good restaurants. Corfu was a very interesting historical city, which Marina and I visited a couple of times. I told my grown daughter about Corfu and recommended that she go there herself some day. It was possible to rent cars or motor scooters and tour the island's villages and monasteries. Most of the people on the island spoke English and were very hospitable. There was a direct flight from Moscow to Corfu, which put the place within easy reach of Russian visitors.

While Marina and I do not plan to build a marriage, we enjoyed each other's company and learned a lot about ourselves and each other. I personally feel that I benefited greatly from this experience.

So that's a summary of my trip. I gained a lot of valuable experience, and who knows? I might be working with you again on arranging another.
